A nozzle is a technical device for influencing a fluid as it passes from a pipe flow into free space. A, nozzle is the end of the pipe and does not do any work, but changes between speed and static pressure, thus is passively involved.

A nozzle can accelerate a fluid along a pressure gradient, form a solid or viscous mass (without lumps) and/or atomize a liquid substance.


Nozzles are used for the following applications:

  • Degreasing of surfaces
  • Moistening and cleaning during paper production
  • PCB Cleaning
  • Mixing, disinfection, cooling of medicines
  • Pasteurisation, clarification/filtration of food
  • Painting and phosphating of vehicles
