Nozzles

Full cone nozzles

Evenly filled, circular spray cone with high impact — the standard for cooling, washing and humidification.

Full cone nozzles distribute the liquid across the entire circular area of the spray cone — unlike hollow cone nozzles, which produce only a ring. An internal vane creates the swirl that, together with the orifice geometry, defines droplet spectrum and spray angle.

Available as a standard full cone nozzle with tangential inlet and as an axial full cone nozzle with straight-through flow for particularly clog-resistant applications.

Full-cone nozzles: uniform area coverage

Full-cone nozzles create a completely filled spray cone with round or square coverage. An internal vane distributes the liquid across the entire cross-section – hence the even distribution required for cooling, dust suppression and washing.

  • Spray angles from 15° to 120° depending on target distance
  • Large free passages – low tendency to clog
  • Available as axial or tangential nozzle
  • Materials from brass to Hastelloy and ceramic

With axial full-cone nozzles the inlet lies in the direction of the jet, minimising pressure loss and making the nozzle especially insensitive to particles. It is the typical choice for cooling towers, gas cooling and heavy-duty spray booms – see axial full-cone nozzles. As Delavan distributor Germany we list the full range in the nozzles overview.

Frequently asked questions

What are full cone nozzles used for?
For uniform surface coverage: cooling, washing, humidifying, dust suppression and gas cooling. The cone is completely filled with droplets.
What is the difference between full cone and hollow cone nozzles?
A full cone nozzle distributes the medium across the entire circular area, a hollow cone nozzle only along the outer ring – but with finer droplets at the same pressure.
